Introduction
For over 15 years, Duy Tan University has been focusing on international cooperation and partnerships with reputable universities worldwide to offer international undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The university is striving not only to provide international programs for Vietnamese students but also to become the first private university in Central Vietnam to recruit and train international students. In this spirit, on January 19, 2009, the Board of Directors of Duy Tan University decided to rename the Center for International Cooperation to the Faculty of International Education to align with its new functions and responsibilities. On September 26, 2020, to meet the goals and development strategy of Duy Tan University until 2025 and the vision to 2030, the Faculty of International Education was renamed the Institute of International Education, and it is now officially known as the School of International Education.
The School of International Education serves as a bridge between Duy Tan University and reputable foreign educational partners. To date, the School has established cooperative relationships, technology transfer agreements, joint training programs, and faculty and student exchanges with more than 15 universities worldwide, welcoming hundreds of delegations from these institutions for visits and exchanges.
Among the prominent programs are collaborations with:
Carnegie Mellon University (USA-CMU) since 2008, offering training in Information Technology (Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity).
Penn State University (USA-PSU) since 2009, offering training in Business Administration, Accounting, and Tourism.
California State University (USA-CSU) since 2011, offering training in Construction, and CalPoly University offering training in Architecture.
Purdue University (USA-PNU) since 2017, offering training in Engineering & Technology, Electrical - Electronics, and Mechatronics.
In addition to the collaborative programs for technology transfer, staff training, and building advanced international programs, the School of International Education also offers study abroad programs such as 1+1+2, 2+2, and 3+1 with prestigious universities in the USA, Canada, and the UK. Particularly notable are the 4+0 on-site study abroad programs (4 years studying at Duy Tan University) leading to American degrees from TROY University (Alabama, USA) and Keuka College (New York, USA).
Faculty Team
As of December 2019, the university has sent more than 350 faculty members for short-term and long-term training in professional skills and expertise in the USA and Singapore. These faculty members form the core teaching force for advanced and high-quality programs. The Institute's faculty team consists of 42 full-time lecturers, all of whom hold at least a master's degree, with 35% having graduated from the USA and Europe, 17.5% holding doctoral degrees, and 10.2% being foreign lecturers. The Institute of International Education's strength lies in its young, dynamic, highly skilled, and enthusiastic faculty, proficient in their field of expertise and foreign languages.
In addition to the full-time teaching staff, each year, over 10 visiting lecturers and professors from partner universities come to teach directly to students and train the university's faculty in teaching methodologies.
To date, the School of International Education has enrolled and trained 12 cohorts, with a current student body of 2200, covering majors such as CMU-standard Software Engineering, CMU-standard Management Information Systems, PSU-standard Business Administration, PSU-standard Finance and Banking, PSU-standard Accounting (and Auditing), CSU-standard Architecture, and CSU-standard Construction.
Notably, in 2018, the Management Information Systems program received ABET (CAC) accreditation from the USA. In 2020, the Software Engineering program also achieved ABET (EAC) accreditation. These are two of the four programs at Duy Tan University to receive international accreditation (making it the university with the most ABET-accredited programs in Vietnam. ABET, which stands for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc., is a non-governmental organization that evaluates standards of programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. While ABET’s evaluations primarily occur in the United States, they have gradually expanded internationally.)
With a modern curriculum design and training content, small class sizes (fewer than 40 students), excellent learning conditions (classrooms, labs, and learning facilities), and modern teaching methods (CDIO approach, project-based learning - PBL, learning by doing, etc.), the training programs at the School of International Education effectively integrate theory with practice and real-world experience. These programs, implemented over the years, provide students with opportunities to engage with businesses and gain practical knowledge to enhance their skills. From this environment, students at the School of International Education become sought-after candidates for businesses even while still studying. With strong English skills, teamwork abilities, dynamism, and adaptability to professional and international work environments, students from the School of International Education are trusted by many major enterprises in Central Vietnam and across the country, such as Fsoft Đà Nẵng, Axon Active, BAP, Enclave, LogiGear, DICentral, DAC Tech Vietnam, mgm technology partners, Sun World, Sun Group, CMC, Cotescon, Delta, and others.

In 2012, the School's students continued to shine at major events, with Nguyễn Thu Quỳnh being named one of the 20 outstanding female students in Information Technology nationwide, and Nguyễn Hùng Phi being the only contestant from Central Vietnam to make it to the top 30 of the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship. At the 16th National Physics Olympiad held at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology in 2013, two students from the School, Phạm Quang Trung and Nguyễn Châu Thành, won second prize, and the Duy Tan University Olympic team received third prize overall.
2014 was a year of remarkable achievements for the School of International Education, with students achieving great success. At the 2014 National Informatics Olympiad, students Lê Quang Hiệp and Nguyễn Võ Nguyên Tuấn were awarded third prize, and students Phạm Vũ Nguyễn and Nguyễn Đình Đạt received honorable mentions. At the 2014 Potential CPA competition, student Nguyễn Thị Hương Quỳnh also overcame many "competitors" to win an honorable mention.
Throughout the training process, Duy Tan University has organized many large-scale competitions for students to showcase their abilities and apply theoretical knowledge through practical activities. Notable competitions include programming and business startup contests such as the DTU Innovation Cup 2014, Hackathon Up Studio, and Startup. These competitions saw active participation from students of the School of International Education, who won numerous valuable prizes. The dynamic female student of the School, Trần Minh Dạ Thảo, received the "Five Good Student" award at the city level for the 2013-2014 academic year and made significant contributions to the CFV team in initiating the idea of "Code for Vietnam - Vietnam Crowdfunding Network," winning second prize. This product, specifically designed for Vietnamese people with an international standard model, was meticulously researched by the CFV team and is highly feasible for practical application.
